I've tried it again and this time even suspended all other Projects, rendering the entire System idle with only MW being an active Project. BOINC Event log keeps saying "Requesting new Tasks for ATI" - "Scheduler request complete, got 0 Tasks". It really seems that HD7790 can't get any work from MW, no matter what I do (???) I begin to wonder if that's some of the old (long forgotten) BOINC Long Term Debt issues... I know very old Versions of BOINC tended to do that when they internally accumulated out-of-whack debt figures running multiple projects. At least back in the old days, the calculation methods for the figure were unstable and created a BOINC-disabling effect under certain conditions. |

I could only find the latest version for windows 8.1. You can get any of the AMD drivers here, download links are at the bottom of the page. http://www.hal6000.com/seti/boinc_ati_gpu_cheat_sheet.htm |

Okay, I may be done with Milky Way. I went ahead and blew off Catalyst, and installed 9.1. When I did, MW told me "the GPU was missing!" Moo Wrapper ran fine. I reset the project, and new tasks loaded & immediately aborted. I removed the project & re-installed. Same thing, tasks load and immediately abort. I'm going to put back the newest driver & whatever runs runs. |

Very frustrating, especially for a retired person who needs the computer for more than crunching. Re-installed the newest version of Catalyst. This time, nothing from MW will run, even some (but not all) of the modified fits error, that didn't happen before. I don't have the time to mess with this any longer. If the project staff gave a damn it would be a different story. I read the whole thread that Assimilator kindly referenced, and not one single input from staff. Obviously they have enough crunchers, so solving a problem that only affects a few isn't important. If it was, they would keep their work units compatible with new releases of Catalyst. Obviously, I've screwed-up my video driver, and made it useless for MW. I'll try to return when I shift to a linux platform later this month. |

Ive had this issue before after installing different driver versions. From what I understand it has something to do with you going from a newer driver to an older drver. I used the program driver sweeper to completely remove all my graphics drivers so I could reinstall and it fixed the problem. |

Yes you did, by going to version 9.1 you installed a version from PRE Boinc gpu crunching days, that was back when gpu's were only used for gaming. Go back and try version 13.1, you may have to get the 'driver sweeper' program too at this point to wipe out everything you currently have though. AMD is easily confused when there are multiple versions of drivers on the same machine. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. As for the 'newer' drivers they have said in the past they support 'released' versions, not beta or test versions. They too need to have time to 'test' what works and how to modify their apps if needed. |

Yea agreed, use Cat 13.1 & driver sweeper & I bet it'll sort it out, not quite sure why you used Cat 9.1 ;) But Pete yea I agree, it is a right pain to have to mess around with drivers like this. I understand that they don't won't support beta drivers but they don't even support current full release (post 13.1) drivers for 5800s & 6900s!
