In my case the N-Body Simulation 1.48 is running 12 CPUs. It gets to 100% after a couple of hours and then continues to run (over 200 hours so far) but never finishes. It does this on 2 separate machines. |

It does this on 2 separate machines. Some people do have problems with the n-body units and it sounds like yours are stuck, try suspending the project for a few seconds and then restarting it and see what they do. If they restart but at a lower percentage they could finish, but you may end up aborting them anyway. One thing if you have another cpu project when you suspend MW you may get a ton of units from the other project, so you may want to say no new tasks from it first. |

How do I stop my computer from downloading the N-body Simulation 1.48? I have set my preferences to NO on N-body (all categories) but I keep getting these files and they do not want to finish, they just keep running with a Remaining Time of ---. The only ways that I have found to stop the processing of these files is to either re-boot or abort it. |

I had to abort ps_nbody_2_13_orphan_sim_2_1422013803_1287612_2, when it ran 2.5 hours on 2 CPU without check-pointing and remaining time zero for most of that time. No problem with the others |

those n-body crap is absolutely buggy. even if it says it will use 4 cpus, or better cores, it often uses only a single one, but blocks the other three cores which those app so-called uses for other applications i kicked those crap out of the calculations, it's absolutely useless. even the points are rediculous for the work |

Im having the same trouble, all the N-Body simulations just go slowly to 100% and then sit there with the cpu doing nothing for hours on end. I went to the website and changed the preferences to not run the N-Body simulations (unchecked), but im still getting them in the work queue. |

... If no work for selected applications is available, accept work from other applications? Uncheck the box. |

So, the "yes" should be set to "no"? |

Just make certain that box is not checked and save your preferences. You will then not receive n-body work. Then abort any you have and you'll be good to go. |

So, the "yes" should be set to "no"? Correct. Cheers, Keith |

I'm another one who had to disable n-body simulations. It reached 100% but continued on endlessly. |
