I've had some recent issues on one of my computers, so I looked to see if results had been uploaded. While looking at the results I noticed that ALL of the uploaded results were receiving the same credit no matter how how much CPU time was expended (on all computers). This is certainly not standard in the BOINC community. So why is this? |

The points being awarded are based on the amount of work being done, not the amount of time it takes. Since these units you are referring to are the same size computation wise(same number of flops) they are all awarded the same points. Other projects have varying size work units so have to employ a varying point system. |

Which wasn't the original intention of Boinc. |

Which wasn't the original intention of Boinc. Once more and more projects came online, each with their own agendas, points being the same across the board went out the window. The barn door is open and the horses have left for greener pastures, the situation is what it is now. |
