My host page has gone psychotic, making multiple 0 point entries for well established host, ie, I now have 14 computers named 'AMD1' and climbing... anyone have this issue too?

Spawning new Host ID's is a problem which occurs from time to time. However, your hosts are hidden and you haven't given us any info to work with, so there's no way to say anything conclusive about what the problem might be.

Well there isn't much else to say. I have been running Milky Way for quite some time, and now, randomly, the host page is doing wacky stuff. I have detached and re-attached, manually merged hosts to eliminate the goofy ones - and they keep popping back up. In 11 years of DC computing I have never had host id's go psychotic, but I have had hosts recently disappear from MW@H, like another recent post.

The bottom line is it really doesn't matter, all hosts are getting proper credit regardless, it's just rather annoying.

Strange things sometimes happen if you configured your hosts for this project through the host dialog or BOINCview, but your host is connected to an account manager (e.g. BAM) that doesn't know about that.

I'm not using an account manager, but it seems that it is a one-way thing, i.e. changes you make on the host side do not get sent to the account manager.

So if you use an account manager, be careful to make all project connections only there and avoid the host side configuration.

Interesting, I am also not using one (manager) at this time, but this is good to know.

Well, I just noticed this phenomena on one of machines (the only one connected to this project). I checked my host list yesterday and had, I think, about 8 separate host ids. Decided to do a merge on them to clean it up. Manually reported my lone completed wu from that machine (and not from BAM) and noticed in the message logs that it spawned yet another new host. The other bizarre thing I see now is that I have some Ghost WUs assigned but they never reached my machine. On Wednesday, I received several messages in the log that the machine couldn't connect (timeout was reached). But after a few hours, I finally downloaded a wu for processing. Did something, by chance, change on the server side in the last few weeks to cause this? I'll also go over to BoincStats/BAM to see if anyone else has reported this as well. But this is the only project that I'm having that issue.
