I had chronic somewhat intermittent problems with Nbody running on my 8 cores. They would stop making progress and computing, but still tie up the core and run time until suspended and resumed later, when the problem would usually run to completion, sometimes validate, sometimes not. I recently stopped running Nbody problems as a result. Too much babysitting.

I've also been having the issue with nbody multiple CPU tasks. I usually use 3 CPUs and will leave the tasks to compute on their own but sometimes I find the tasks get "stuck" and won't finish (they would be running for hours with no progress). I really haven't found a pattern of why they are behaving that way. I've also stopped computing those tasks because I find tying up 3 processors only for the task to get stuck is quite wasteful.

Hello,
at present I have more than 1600 'validation inconclusive' WU (MilkyWay@Home v1.46 (opencl_ati_101)), these are of the 'Unsent' variety, on my three machines:

https://milkyway.cs.rpi.edu/milkyway//results.php?hostid=764666&offset=0&show_names=0&state=3&appid=
https://milkyway.cs.rpi.edu/milkyway//results.php?hostid=765378&offset=0&show_names=0&state=3&appid=
https://milkyway.cs.rpi.edu/milkyway//results.php?hostid=763440&offset=0&show_names=0&state=3&appid=

Any idea what's going on?

Many thanks,
max

They work for some people but not everyone, no one has ever figured out why though.
