Hi,

how can configure, that on my computers not run nbody simulation jobs, only other milkyway jobs?
They don't work correctly on my computer, it seems so. One nbody Job will use all usable CPUs and do block they all for other bionic jobs and then do nothin (cpu using 1% most of th time and almost nothing on memory). One Job for exeple run now for over 16 hours, stand by 91% finishing and makes no progress anymore it seems so :-(.

I think the N-body Simulations are a multi-threaded task and will use many cores if available.

After you log in edit your Milkyway@home preferences

Run only the selected Applications: Milkyway@home: yes
Milkyway@home N-Body Simulation: no

Save your preference changes

send an update request from your BOINC client.

Another possibility is to use an "app_config.xml" to limit the number of cores used for a work unit.

(1) Create a file using a text editor (such as Notepad) and insert the following:

<avg_ncpus>4</avg_ncpus>

You can change max_concurrent to limit it to as many work units that you want to run at a time. And you can change avg_ncpus to use as many cores as you like.

(2) Use the "Save as" function to save it as an ".xml" (not a .txt file).

(3) Place it in the MilkyWay program data folder (C:\ProgramData\BOINC\projects\milkyway.cs.rpi.edu_milkyway)

(4) Read the file in via BOINC Manager -> Options/Read config files (you can restart BOINC or reboot to do this too).

If I want to add 2 commands for app_config (max cores number for N-Body and 2 tasks per GPU) I just have to write the 2 commands in the app_config?

I'm not getting any work units.

All my N-body v1.68 tasks sent on 5, 6, and 7 Jul have failed (Error while computing). Run time was never more than 3 seconds. Yet the one reported on 27 Jun (task 2367978675) was completed and validated. The one reported on 26 Jun (task 2367620524) had a validate error.
I am on a Mac and the OS that I am running is Darwin 16.7.0 and the GPU is an AMD ATI Radeon HD 6970M (1024MB) OpenCL: 1.2.
I have not gotten any new tasks since 7 Jul and my account says that the last contact was on 8 Jul at 18:30:06 UTC.
I am just wondering have I missed something or do I really have a problem?
