One of my machines is getting the message:

Message from server: reached per host limit of 2 tasks

Is this a temporary situation until a certain number of Ready To Send is reached or will this always be there? Earlier today it was able to download about 20 WUs at a time.

It does seem to be able to get more tasks after about 20 minutes, so it is not due to this machine returning too many errored WUs. It still shows a quota of 500/day.

I can't seem to get any more than 2 WU's at a time, regardless of the requested days of work I set it at (currently at 0 but I've tried everything from 1 - 10 days)

Philly, I see you followed me over here. Welcome.

This 2 WUs at a time just started today. This morning (US Time) I was getting 20 or 30 WUs at a time. My thoughts are that this was implemented to help spread the work around, since someone with a large cache could wipe out hundreds, if not thousands, of these short WUs at one time. But I would like confirmation to my thoughts.

I'm running a 0.5 day cache on all my projects, since I am now running more than just SETI, I should always have plenty of work to last me thru any one project's downtime.

I would have to say that is correct. That they are currently limiting the amount of WUs given so that everyone can get a chance to crunch. It makes my quad sad since it can only crunch two at a time. Any chance of moving it to 4 at a time?

no problem, i think i'll up it to 8 or 16, that way people with even the bestest of machines will be able to at least have 1 wu per processor. i limited it today because people with large queues were having problems due to the fact that work units would be processed and completed before they'd get to them in the queue, leading to stalled downloads.

Thanks Labbie.

Yeah, I'm trying to spread my computer around to other projects vs all SETI.

Edit - It does appear the project ran out of work, I'm getting 'no work from project' messages.
