I have 2 PCs. I've been using my Linux box, but it's horrible for Milkyway. I have a notebook, that according to the specs should have almost double the integer speed. Which one is better? Keep in mind I'm running the old app, because the instructions for the new app, apparently don't apply to my version of BOINC/Linux. Desktop - http://milkyway.cs.rpi.edu/milkyway/show_host_detail.php?hostid=36366 Notebook - http://einstein.phys.uwm.edu/show_host_detail.php?hostid=1597717 I really want to contribute to this project, but when I get 40 total tasks, and they take 10+ hours each with a 3 day deadline...it fails to complete on time. |

In the current situation the slowest possible is the best, at least it seems to be intended by the project this way. Hi Saenger, too long no speak. My very very old AMD 1.3 is peforming quite nicely at the moment thanks. So yes you may be right. Don't drink water, that's the stuff that rusts pipes |

He is correct, due to the maximum credit per core per hour limit and the maximum of 20 WUs cache per core. |
