I have 2 PCs. I've been using my Linux box, but it's horrible for Milkyway. I have a notebook, that according to the specs should have almost double the integer speed. Which one is better? Keep in mind I'm running the old app, because the instructions for the new app, apparently don't apply to my version of BOINC/Linux.

I really want to contribute to this project, but when I get 40 total tasks, and they take 10+ hours each with a 3 day deadline...it fails to complete on time.

In the current situation the slowest possible is the best, at least it seems to be intended by the project this way.

He is correct, due to the maximum credit per core per hour limit and the maximum of 20 WUs cache per core.

as for current credit policy it does not really matter - why don't you set up a virtual box with windoze?
