Sorry to post to my own question

The server status now shows work available and I have downloaded to the CPU/core limits.

Someone has seen this and is sorting the servers, it looks like, and there is now plenty of work to crunch.

Lol, yeah i was about to head to sleep then i look over at the assimilator and see a big ugly BUS ERROR :( Took awhile to sort it out, but for some reason it looks like some of the uploaded files got corrupted and this was crashing the assimilator -- even though it had been running smoothly for a few days now :(

Many thanks, Travis. The investigation and correction (remotely I presume) was much appreciated.

Hmm... I only found Legos (stupid used sofa, grr).
No wonder my computer can only grab one WU at a time. :(

No new work again? It was a good week or so but it seems that no new work is available at this time.

Yes, I noticed that -- placed reply to myself in the other thread.

Not sure what happened there -- Travis hasn't jumped in to comment.

One thing though, with the longer caches (6 hours or more for me), the lack of available work doesn't go critical near as fast.

Looks like we are revisting the work unit shortage scenario that we've seen a lot of in the past. It might be that there is simply limited new work to be had, or that folks have returned to the project to get work, or that there is some problem at the server side. But the problem does appear to have resurfaced. I've not seen any comment from Travis today on this -- perhaps he's doing his real work :)

Cookies can also get fuzzy if they get old enough ;)

If only i was a professional skier/snowboarder :D While i thought the searches that were running had more than enough time left to not have to start new ones... I was wrong. Then when i get back and try to start up some new searches, the assimilator crashes, then the RPI network crashes. :D Everything should be running smooth again now though.

As far as I can see, Travis, it seems to be running well again and serving up work

I guess folks started loading up on work units and drained your tank dry -- then of course the choice of local (assimilator) and non-local (RPI network) problems attack at the same time. Have the RPI network police sent one of their very best to arrest the miscreant creating all that load on the network? :).
