Hi everyone,

I put up some new separation runs so that we wouldn't be wasting GPU cycles while I am analysing the results from the last runs. The names of these runs are:

de_modfit_80_bundle4_4s_south4s_1
de_modfit_81_bundle4_4s_south4s_1
de_modfit_82_bundle4_4s_south4s_1
de_modfit_83_bundle4_4s_south4s_1
de_modfit_84_bundle4_4s_south4s_1
de_modfit_85_bundle4_4s_south4s_1
de_modfit_86_bundle4_4s_south4s_1

NOTE that these are very similar to the names of the previous runs, demarcated by only a "1" at the end instead of a "0". These runs have slightly different parameters, so it will be interesting to see whether or not they result in the same problems we were having at the end of the last runs.

If you have any issues with these runs please don't hesitate to post about it here. There are lots of great people on these forums who try their hardest to help solve these problems.

Thank you all for your continued support!

Hi Tom,

Thank you for these new separation runs.
According to my first tests, they are running well, especially the "de_modfit_84_bundle4_4s_south4s_1". For your information, I was previously aborting all the "de_modfit_84_bundle4_4s_south4s_0" I received, because they systematically result in errors on my Mac, wasting a lot of my GPU cycles.
Congratulations.

Late to the party but just to confirm, they are running smoothly and with zero issues. Just as Jean-Pierre said.

Hi;
I'm one of the Heathen computer non-nerd's that has no idea what I am running at any given time.
I do know that I have been running a lot of very large programs of late which I hope are helping out your organization.
I would appreciate some feedback as to what I am running.
Thanks and have a great Fourth of July !!!
That's what America is all about.

When I click on your name and then view your computer and then your tasks I see this:
State: All (23) · In progress (5) · Validation pending (0) · Validation inconclusive (5) · Valid (13) · Invalid (0) · Error (0)
Application: All (23) · Milkyway@home N-Body Simulation (14) · Milkyway@home Separation (9)

That means that you've run 23 tasks with 13 of them being valid and 5 being inconclusive at this point and no invalid ones. Most workunits here are sent to 2 computers, more if needed, and require both computers to come up with statistically similar results and until that happens you will see the 'inconclusive' numbers grown and shrink. You can expect the inconclusive workunits to also be validated at some point. The 23 tasks number will also change over time as they don't keep every result ever crunched by us in the stats, they are moved off line as the database grows and the workunits are completed. For instance my numbers are:

State: All (624) · In progress (102) · Validation pending (0) · Validation inconclusive (82) · Valid (422) · Invalid (5) · Error (13)
Application: All (624) · Milkyway@home N-Body Simulation (0) · Milkyway@home Separation (624)

but since I've been crunching here since 2009 there's no way that's ALL the workunits I've ever crunched.
