Hi, I'm using the distro provided Mesa OpenCL software and all Separation tasks immediately error out on my RX 560. The same setup has no problems chrunching for Einstein@Home here is the issue: https://milkyway.cs.rpi.edu/milkyway/results.php?hostid=799092 Any idea if there's a fix coming? Team Belgium |

Hi, Get the latest AMD drivers 20.xx something or other. |

I'm using the latest AMD Linux drivers 20.30 from their website and my tasks are running. You can find instructions on the various ways of installing the driver (whether you want to install the whole "amdgpu-pro" stack, just OpenCL, etc) at: https://amdgpu-install.readthedocs.io/en/latest/install-overview.html Since you are using a RX 560 you'll want to install the "legacy" OpenCL stack. What distro are you using? Setup is generally straightforward on AMD's official supported distros, but can be a bit tricky (not impossible) if using one that isn't officially supported. |

I did not have many errors on my RX 570 until I upgraded to Ubuntu 20.04.1, which requires the latest (20.45) drivers. Now I get many zero-second fails, while the others complete normally. https://milkyway.cs.rpi.edu/milkyway/results.php?hostid=872175 The same thing happens on Einstein, so it is not just MW. It seems to be a driver problem, but maybe MW can work around it? |

I did not have many errors on my RX 570 until I upgraded to Ubuntu 20.04.1, which requires the latest (20.45) drivers. Don't know if this helps: I have been able to use amdgpu 20.20 or 20.30 with Ubuntu 20.04.1 Had a problem with getting a stable desktop and found that the trick is that 5.4.0-56 or -58 breaks the amdgpu drivers. See here: https://community.amd.com/t5/drivers-software/can-t-install-amdgpu-drivers-on-ubuntu-20-04-1-5-4-0-56-generic/td-p/426676. Once I uninstalled kernels greater than 54 and reinstalled the amd drivers, it has been stable. If your computer is your daily driver, you will have to come up with a strategy to prevent Ubuntu from nagging you to death to upgrade. |

thx for the information, so the kernel did kill my milkyway operations, new install on older kernel required. No time for such things, but good to know. Cheers ! |
