Message 6269 - Posted: 18 Nov 2008, 22:29:47 UTC - in response to Message 6264.

OK, I'm sorry, my mistake. It seems like I didn't make it clear enough for everybody. Maybe some are even too fussy, I don't know.

Anyway, let me explain:

1. Active SG-Board-Members were upset about the Credit situation at MW.
2. Various People agreed to boycott the project. The people, not the Team, got it?
3. The same people agreed to spread out a recommendation to all other team members, not to crunch MW until the Credits match BOINC-Standards again.

So for the TEAM it is a RECOMMENDATION to the volunteers (as we can and will not force them!).
But for the SINGLE PERSON, who stopped crunching MW, in fact it is a boycott.

That's why you may still see Credits coming to the SG-Account.

Ah, btw. I do see a decrease of credits/day.

Yes, I see your credits per day decrease now.

And I understand it now: It was a recommendation to boycott MilkyWay.
THX
-------------------------------------

BTW: My recommendation is to support MilkyWay by boycotting your recommendation to boycott Milkyway. O.K:?

Now, more than three days later, please look at statistic sites like these:
http://www.boincsynergy.com/stats/teams.php?project=mwah
The SETI.Germany "boycott" is a big fake !!!

looks like SETI GERMANY is crunching more and more for this project.

lonesome DON SAENGER on an impossible mission.

Ugh, did you really have to put a first name to it? :/ I'd like to request that admin take those "boycotted" credits and transfer them to Synergy. There appears to be some sort of mixup.

But on the other Side it influences the BOINC Credit System in a disastrouos matter! It is absolutely disproportional in regards to other Projects

After about a month, I see my combined RAC is only about 1.5 times higher than the highest RAC I ever attained when running another project with an optimized app. That's even with running FreeHal, another one I'm sure gets complained about. Here and there I've been crunching some ABC and Enigma WUs as well because there were some milestones I wanted to attain.

So ... 1.5 times bigger is all. I guess the fears about disproportionality (I am the new-word-ificator) were themselves a bit disproportionate?

Hi,

we discussed this long and intensely at the SETI.Germany Board and with Members of other Teams as well, and we came to the Point that the Milkyway@home Project doesn't deserve to be supported any longer.

Our Team recommends it's Members to stop Crunching MW immediately until the faulty Credit System is corrected AND the optimised Apps are "officially" used by the Project.

Why?

The Development ot the optimised Application is highly appreciated - it gets the Projects Work done a lot faster than before.

But on the other Side it influences the BOINC Credit System in a disastrouos matter! It is absolutely disproportional in regards to other Projects.

The Project Leaders are well informed about this Issue I assume but so far nothing has changed.

I wish all here a good and pleasant Weekend.

Best Regards

aendgraend
SETI.Germany

Our Recommendation to our Team Members is now withdrawn. The Project has moved and changed some things, thank you MW-Team.

Cheers

I think you are the idiot. This is the same crap that started the whole topic, which has made travis lower the credit, any lower it will be in the toilet.

Travis: Delete this stupid post and this user.

*ROFL* Nomen est omen, eh?

And methinks Mr. Idiot is a bit too late for complaining here after the project team changed a lot concerning apps and credits. *grin*
Lovely greetings, Cori

And this is why online sarcasm usually fails in the text format. :(
I hope "BOINC idiot" is being sarcastic, but it's really hard to tell. o_O ?
