Can I force Einstein and Milkyway both to run on the same GPU at once? The reason I'm considering this is Milkyway is using the double precision part of the GPU, and Einstein uses the single precision part. Are these parts of the chip independant? Can I run both and get twice the work done?

Why would you want to do that?
If that would be possible, expect instability, issues and errors.
Years ago it was possible to play games on a gpu that was running collatz, but i dont know if that is possible now.
I never tried that out, i use dedicated gpus for boinc for many years now.

It is possible to run 2 different projects on the same gpu, but the projects will have to take turns running on that gpu.

I don't know how the cards are made internally, but I know Einstein uses single precision floating point, and milkyway uses double. If those were seperate parts of the GPU, then they should both run at once without slowing each other down. I've since managed to try it, and they did slow each other down, so clearly the GPU parts cannot run simultaneously.

I can play games at the same time as Boinc, but some games end up with a slower frame rate, so I just tell boinc to pause when certain games are running, using the "exclusive applications" setting.

Milkyway is my favourite project so that runs on most of my cards (except one which is terrible at double precision so it does Einstein). I just thought I could put Einstein on them aswell without slowing milkyway down.
