I have never had reason to post here, joined up in 2009.

I assembled a new PC in September of 2016. I decided to build and over powered monster. When I got through the setup I discovered it would not run BIONIC no way, no how. All the hardware checked out. Blamed it on Windows 10. A month back I mentioned my problem on a AMD forum and somebody asked me if I was running and FX9590. Yes, and what Motherboard, ASUS Crosshair V Formula Z. I was told that combination ;was a hit or miss marriage, I missed. The fix was to underclock it. I found out there was a big discount on the FX8350 which is the next CPU below the 9590. Installed it tweaked the BIOS and I was running. First thing I did was install BIONIC. Dr. Freeze did not appear. I was back up and running, and has been running every since. I see Seti@home is suspending it's project so I added Asteriods@home to replace it. it is so nice to be back.

I sympathize with you. Some time ago I picked up an HP Pro 3400 mombo, $20. It would not work with a single gpu that I had and I have a lot of old gpus as well as new ones. No bios upgrade and a search of HP came up with missing links for all driver downloads.
