From what I can tell all the logs have only this error message:

Finish file present too long

Any thoughts?

Here's a link to all of my tasks resulting in errors:

This is a common error with any BOINC client less than the 7.16 branches. It is cause by the host not being able to clean up BOINC files when the client is shut down because of heavy loading of the computer and slow disk access. Try to wait at least 2-3 minutes after shutting down the client before turning off the computer.

Or download and install the 7.16 branches which have fixed code to extend the normal 10 second check for files window to 5 minutes. This eliminates the finish file present error.

You can read about it here #3300

Thanks! My machine is on the Ubuntu 18.04 LTS release running boing-client version 7.9.3+dfsg-5ubuntu2. How do you recommend upgrading? Install from source? Manually delete finish files during restart?

I confirmed that in the upcoming Ubuntu 20.04 LTS Focal Fossa release boinc-client version 7.16 will be available to install through the package manager.

If you don't want to got to Fossa yet, then the BOINC ppa is available also for a distro version of the install.

I like to use the modified All-in-One client that Seti GPUUG team members created. That client installs to the /home directory and is easier to manage. But is targeted at Seti predominantly. Not recommended at this time with Seti shutting down.
