When I first started Milky Way at home the work units processed rather quickly. Now they seem to take hours. What was changed in them and what is the general rule for the time it will take to finish a unit. I have other projects but still would like to help here without taking to much away from the others. Thanks

My WUs ae running at the same speed they have for the last several weeks across 4 PCs. So, I cannot answer your question from this view point.

Sorry!

Funny, are you going to spam the projects boards with the same question several times?
There are at least two other threads here from you with the same question not long ago:
http://milkyway.cs.rpi.edu/milkyway/forum_thread.php?id=428
http://milkyway.cs.rpi.edu/milkyway/forum_thread.php?id=398

It hasn't changed much since then.
You can try Milksop's app if you want and if you have the computer for it, look here:
http://milkyway.cs.rpi.edu/milkyway/forum_thread.php?id=433

Unfortunately Mac Users can't use it, too bad if you have one.

Must be too hard to look...
Doesn't expecting the unexpected make the unexpected the expected?
If it makes sense, DON'T do it.

The very first work units, I have also noticed, get done rather quickly. (In a few minutes)
Then they take a while.

If you take the new optimized app (not default yet) then the hour long WU's go back to taking a few minutes because the code has been cleaned up.
