In the meantime I have disabled all project tasks.

Did you check to see if MS did the same old thing of loading it's own gpu drivers over the top of the ones you loaded? MS does it ALOT and the solution is to just reload the drivers for your gpu from Nvidia in your case.

The initial Windows update failed, I have successfully updated now based on the following. I have re-enabled BOINC and this project, will inform if issue persists.

I still got the GPU hang until I selected the "Hardware-Accelerated GPU Scheduling", which was disabled by default. This fixed it with my configuration.
