Validator Outage

The RPI network seems to be struggling at the moment. It should hopefully resolve itself within a day or two.

What has caused this?

No idea. The RPI IT/Admin didn't mention anything.

Whatever it is it has gotten much worse, none of my hosts can connect, reboots don't work.
There is a serious problem.

Hmm, that's concerning. I think that the RPI connection problems have stopped, as far as I can tell. Is anyone else having this issue?

I was getting serious lag and unresponsiveness from the project pages earlier this morning.

Seems to have cleared itself up now. No issues contacting the project or getting or reporting work now.

Has it cleared up for you at all, Spatz? I haven't had any connection trouble since this morning either.

I am still experiencing connection problems.
Everything seems sluggish to respond, I can wait minutes for a request for work or to report completed tasks.
Sometimes so long that the host stops requesting work.

Everything seems to be running but nothing is getting validated, the awaiting validation number seems to going up.

I have to agree that the Validation pending is increasing in my case 90264 when normally this would be 0

I'll need to look into why the number of WUs awaiting validation is so high. In the meantime, I took down and restarted all of the major server processes. A couple of processes took a lot longer than usual to come down, so maybe there was something funky going on there. Hopefully the restart fixed it -- if not, I'll see what I can do.

Yeah, I'm having that problem too. I'm asking around to see if it's a MilkyWay thing or an RPI thing. Usually when this happens it's because something changed on the RPI network.

This problem is being addressed elsewhere in this message board ("News General"): with respect, the problem is general to all of us. May I suggest, those trying to solve it can probably do it without updates on pending scores - I'm sure they are fully aware!
