Does anyone own or have ever installed a Nvidia P100 PCIe GPU in a system and got it working? I realize it doesn't have an video outputs and it only has a passive cooler but I'm curious what hardware/OS requires there are to install and use one these.

Yea, it is a problem with those passive cooled cards. They were cheap before miners started buying them up. I got a number of S9000, S9050, S9100 a few years ago all at $200 USD or under. I may clean them up and sell them/

Some ideas using aluminum tape and a blower

I have a team mate who is/has run several of the Nvidia P106-100 cards successfully at projects. Equivalent to a GTX1060.
Just have to figure out some sort of server blower like forced air-cooling for them.

Don't see how that would work sitting in the adjacent slot to the card. Those server cards are entirely closed off on their sides. They only intake air on the end.
I guess if you removed the shroud to expose the cooling fins it would work as long as the shroud was not part of the cooling solution.

I actually tried that. I used a utility knife to cut open and peal out the top surface so a fan could blow in. Did not work as I did not have a shroud to force the air through. Turned out by accident that just about any of the HD 7950 cooling assemblies from a "parts only" eBay sale fit fine. Just cannot put the card into a case because the cooling assembly extends past the card. I had a 7950 fail and discovered the cooler fit perfectly over the chip on the S9000 (but not the s9100)

I am seriously thinking of selling my S9000 as I seem them being offered for $1000 and I have several with really nice coolers (not rigged as shown in the picture)

I know this post is a couple months old at this point, but I have some experience with this. I have a Tesla K20m I got for cheap that I'm running in this host. I don't know about the Pascal Teslas, but my K20 has the same 58.4mm cooler pitch as similar consumer models, so if you find a dead GeForce card with the same pitch and good clearance for the capacitors and power connectors, you can swap the cooler onto the Tesla and use an adapter to connect to a normal fan controller to power the cooler. I swapped the cooler from an ASUS GTX 770 DirectCU II onto my K20m and it works great. Only real issue is that you have to remove the midplate that has the mounting holes for the support bracket, which means you have to run the computer on its side or you could damage the PCIe slot. If you go this route, you should probably get some little heatsinks for the VRM and VRAM since they lose the cooling offered by the midplate.

I got it all worked out a while back. I only had a couple different systems to try the P100 in. I could not get it to work in a Z77 mobo with a i7-3770 CPU. Under windows the device manager said not enough resources. Under linux it never would recognize the GPU. Installed it in a C612 chipset mobo with Xeon V4 CPU and it works fine under windows and linux. As for cooling, I had originally planned to take the cover off the heatsink and zip tie a couple 120mm fans to it but the cover is all sealed up with no way to get the heatsink open to zip tie fans to. That was easy to deal with though. I just cobbled together fan shroud to hold a 120mm fan which blows air through the cooler. I used a Noctua fan which moved over 100 cfm with high static pressure. Keeps GPU temps 65C or less.
