Thank you, Mr. Donlon, for the BOINC Manager push notification regarding the status of the project. It makes the "no WU to crunch" withdrawals easier to deal with as we wait for MW@Home to start sending out work again.

Would it be possible to only give out Nbody for CPUs and not seperation? Seems daft to do seperation on CPUs when the GPUs are so much faster. There's not currently a way to choose Nbody only if you have a CPU and GPU in the same system.

Are you trying to split a system with N-Body on CPU and Separation on GPU on a system ? Or are you just trying to do Separation only on GPU's on a system ?

Systems with GPU and CPU, I want Nbody on the CPU and Seperation on the GPU.

Don't use an oven, doesn't work. I have a professional SMD reflow station. Two cards reflow GPU others various problems. You need ESR meter, MATS software(Nvidia only), scope and knowledge of how they work.

As long as the results are useful to science I don't really care, the tiny pittance from Gridcoin I won't miss.

That's the issue. I could spend the time crunching more MW Separation for some future RAC somewhere down the road or use the gpus now to produce immediate RAC and Gridcoin magnitude for Einstein GRP.

Ok I suspected that was what you were hoping for. Milkyway does not have the special preferences option that Einstein has ..

Run CPU versions of applications for which GPU versions are available: Yes or No

I suppose that you could write it up as a Wish List item for development

OK, I'll just stick ones that need reflow onto Ebay.

Since gridcoin doesn't anywhere near even pay for the electricity, who cares?

I shall do so, but I suspect there are more urgent problems for them to deal with just now.

True, it doesn't pay for the electricity. But it can help offset the cost of adding new gpus. Just added new 3080's and 2080 Ti's to my hosts.
Main thing is helping maintain my RAC for my Team. No point in wasting gpu time for MW that takes 3 weeks to pay out when I can spend the gpu time more wisely at Einstein.
No optimized apps for Milkyway yet. Hoping I can persuade our developer to look at that next after we finalize our Einstein app development.
We just recently broached 104Million Einstein Team RAC. Which is amazing for only 18 active members.

Yes, I worked out Gridcoin will pay for new hardware in 1.5 years.

I don't get this points thing. I run MW because I want to help with the science.

Well I too want to support the science. As I mention in my profile, I like adding to our knowledge of the galaxy formation and its shape since I image lots of nebulae and clusters in it.
But I caught the competition bug back when Seti started so just continuing the effort with Einstein.

Also I will return to MW when the servers are back in order and validation is back to normal and tasks validate in a day.

Yeah I like the stats too I guess, I have a graph of my position in every project. I'm in the process of changing over from Gridcoin pool to self-gridcoin so I can have control over what tasks run and see my stats. I was under the false impression I needed to stake lot of ocins to earn them, but all the stake does is change the frequency of payouts. 10000 coins - 2 weeks, 5000 coins = 1 month, 2500 coins = 2 months, etc.

I wish I had enough cash to buy telescopes and cameras, sounds great fun what you do.

When you get them to look at the Einstein app development please ask them to consider an Einstein project option type
Run CPU versions of applications for which GPU versions are available: Yes or No

Where we can split Apps on systems with GPU's

Thanks

Looks like the validator crashed. I'm going to check out the logs and see what happened.

The validator had timed out from the DB, so it terminated the process. I think I probably did that when I was purging stale tasks from the DB yesterday. Anyways, it's up and running now.

Thanks for your efforts. My computers are eating whatever you can produce.

Hello Tom
Having problems getting work.
Manual requests don't work
Automatic requests don't work and stop requesting after a few attempts.
