I don't WANT to get the work units that use 4 or 8 CPUs. I always abort them. Is there a way to not get them at all?

AFAIK N-body is always going to be multi-threaded.
To stop getting them you need to go into your account and click on: "Preferences for this project MilkyWay@home preferences"
Then uncheck "n-body"

If you want to only avoid the N-Body Simulation tasks that are multi threaded, you can uncheck "Milkyway@home N-Body Simulation" from the project preferences page. This should continue to give you Separation tasks that run on the CPU.

If you want to stop all CPU projects, you can uncheck CPU projects while you're there.
