I haven't read anything to suggest a problem with old accounts. They promised us badges etc would carry over to the new system. I think they know how important that is. |

I looked on the Krembil site and couldn’t find a mention of WCG unless I looked in the wrong place. |

The WCG forums and web site are now back on-line [at https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org]. Web site functionality doesn't seem to be 100% complete, but some of that is because defaults for things like device lists are "confused" by the length of the hiatus! We are promised "some exciting news soon" -- I presume that means the restart of work flow... Cheers - Al. P.S. The link in Mikey's post above redirects to the old link, so save 3 characters :-)... |

Yup they go to the same place now, in the Forums I read this from one of the Admins: Thank you all - this is very exciting to us. Thank you for your patience. - no need to update the client - but you could if it is older - streaks are preserved. - boinc will be restarted soon" One person said their streak of crunching 150 days straight, I never even looked for or saw that before, was not showing but the Admin came back and said that once the tasks start flowing, no time line given, they will show up as before. |

World Community Grid is sending out a limited number of work units as they are testing their system now.Not everybody is getting work units yet but this is an improvement |

Been, like this for days.. thought I would ask before giving up on it. Thanks I'm only asking for Africa Rain Fall and TB tasks but they are only sending me ARF tasks and yes they get stuck in the download queue!! What I do is keep clicking retry and eventually they come thru, some take awhile but I highlight the whole column and everytime one gets sent to the back of the list I click 'retry' and it tries that same task or tasks over and over again until they finally come thru then moves on to the next files on the list. If you don't click everytime one goes to the back of the list then after just a few the whole list will go back to the 'waiting for download' thing and some of them can be waiting 5 hours or more if left on their own. I have over 10 pc's and I have to go thru them all several times per day to keep them from getting stuck waiting on it's own to download work. |

Thanks for that Mikey. I will not be doing any more until the problem is rectified. Am surprised WCG haven’t sorted it out, it’s been going on for a while. |

Apparently the new people never asked how much internet bandwidth they would need to supply to keep the project going like it was before and they vastly underestimated it and the cost to get more. It's better today than it was a month ago and even much better than it was 2 months ago so it is improving slowly. |

Thanks for that. That sounds a bit of a serious error to underestimate the network traffic. There must have been a huge amount of information on the WU’s distributed processed and received on any basis hourly, daily weekly etc. |

WCG seems to have stopped sending updates to Boincstats as well. Been like that for a week I would say. It has been raised on the relevant thread but no comment from Krembil. |

Projects don't "send" the stats, they create a file that all the stats sites then download that shows our stats, Krembil has probably stopped creating the file for some reason so no stats. |

Thanks for that Mikey…I guess whatever they were doing they have stopped. Looking at the number of messages in their forums I get the distinct impression they are overwhelmed with the whole WCG project. |

I think so too BUT the Africa Rainfall tasks do seem to have stopped backing off on their transfers, at least in the last 2 days they have |
