I noticed tasks are assigned to my computers and are shown on the web site as "In Progress", but are not shown on the client software. As a result, the tasks reach the deadline and are marked as "error" tasks with status/outcome "Abandoned". What is causing this? |

You need to look at your logs during and after a connection to the project asking for work. Try setting file_xfer_debug in the logging options. Also check that the type of work you are requesting is actually capable of running on your host. If it is gpu type, do you have the requisite driver components installed? And since you have your computers hidden we can't assist you by examining your issue directly. It would help if you unhid your hosts in your preferences. |

My computers should be visible now. The tasks are "separation" for both cpu and gpu. The tasks I receive run fine. The issue does not happed all the time. |

My computers should be visible now. The tasks are "separation" for both cpu and gpu. The tasks I receive run fine. The issue does not happed all the time. There is nothing in the stderr.txt that will help troubleshoot. It could simply be the case where the server does not think that the task sent to you is needed. So the server cancels the task. It is nothing done by your client or is at fault. But I don't see any overlappping report/sent times that is the common issue for this problem. You would have to toggle on some extra report logging to figure out what is happening. I don't see any huge numbers of errors on any of your hosts. Nothing out of the ordinary there. I would not worry about it. Most projects and BOINC is expecting up to 5% invalids/errors on the tasks sent out for computing. You only need to worry if your valid to invalid/error ratio is much greater. On MW I see around 2-3% invalid rate on my hosts and I don't worry about that. There is always going to be some invalids simply because of the way a projects validator is set up. Start comparing validations among different processors and operating systems and you are going to have differences in the math. |

Think there must have been a glitch, I have 15 separation tasks assigned but they are not on my system. Will leave things, I guess they will disappear eventually. |
