The same thing happens to me, I get a message, "failed to add the project, please try again later", it happens to me since the last server problems, in other projects I do not have this problem except with Cosmology that also happens to me, what I do not understand is that if I can log in the Milkway@home page with username and password that is the same as in the Boinc project without any problem, also say that I do not use any account manager, I would appreciate that some expert of the project solve this problem.
Thanks and greetings.

I have exactly the same issue as you two are describing. I wonder when it will be fixed, as it's been like this for the past 3 weeks...

Did you try removing the http:// and/or https:// altogether? That works for me when trying to get to the Cosmology Project, I think it's a byproduct of everyone going to https and they have missed some things

same here. sending to http instead results in the connection being reissued in https and then gets fatal ssl/tls error.

OK. So it turns out the Windows Update fix is for real.

I didn't get access to the the update required for 6 days.

First, I have to "upgrade" from Windows 10 Home 21H1 to Windows 10 Home 22H2.
Then after a reboot I ran Windows Update and got the cumulative update for 22H2 (KB5018482).
After another reboot Milkyway files were downloaded, wu ran, files uploaded.

Everything worked. :)
Hope this helps someone.
