Hello, I'll be building an experimental tower (basic) with this CPU, no GPU. Is there anybody who has done it yet and had problems make it compute under GNU / Linux OS. (ubuntu, debian) Happy new year and take great care, François. |

You won't have any issues with computations. However with the current distros you will have no sensors for the motherboard or the cpu. So no temps, speeds or voltages. Currently running a 7950X here on a Asus X670E Hero mobo.

Thank you Keith, For the information about the "temps", as this is important for me. Maybe with the 6th generation kernels (6.0 and up) and the Xsensors program will do it. I'll investigate a little bit before I complete the build ... |

Sensors are there from 6.0 kernel, so one just needs a newer kernel. Unfortunately, even Ubuntu 22.10 didn't make the cut, but Fedora and Arch should be good. I finished my build in mid-Dec last year and sensors all worked with Arch out of the box. |

Thank you Wu, I've heard a lot about Arch; might be a good thing to go and read about it. Take care, François. |
