I sometimes get errors while the project tries to update. If I stop my openvpn service it works, after starting openvpn it works ony for a while til boinc can't update my milkyway@home anymore
I am running boinct and sometimes it says:

Scheduler request failed: Couldn't resolve host name
Project communication failed attemmpting access to reference site

and

Internet access OK - project servers maybe temporarily down.

If this message appears I cant access https://milkyway.cs.rpi.edu but I have internet access

I am running boinc-client 7.18.1
I am using airvpn

Keep trying alot of us are getting it at times, the vpn shouldn't make any difference unless you have turned off MilkyWay in it specifically

You can contact an Admin and ask if they are blocking a set of IP addresses that maybe you are using, ideally you should try moving your vpn to someplace else in the World, a start might be the US, Canada or the UK depending on where you live as MilkyWay is hosted in the US.

I checked which AirVPN server is working correctly with milkyway@home and changed my openvpn setting, so it will only connect to this server. Now I can update my work units every time I want.
