The upgrade went out years ago. Then you could do it if you pretended to be disabled. But you can always use one of the free options. Just never register it, you get a watermark on the bottom right, but everything works except the odd unimportant thing like setting the wallpaper. The other option stems from Sweden.Install latest version Win 10 using your Win7 key. Upgrade won't work anymore, but clean install should. You learn something new every day. According to a quick Google search I believe you can still use the upgrade option P.S. the ... post you made and I assume you wanted to delete it, changing to two spaces makes it go away. Weird, but it works. The above was double spaced between sentences, I apologise for the forum software ruining my post. |

Use virtual kms server. Most people do, even in America where it's actually illegal. Does anyone seriously pay for a license for every machine? I've got 8. The above was double spaced between sentences, I apologise for the forum software ruining my post. |

P.S. the ... post you made and I assume you wanted to delete it, changing to two spaces makes it go away. Weird, but it works. Thanks Peter, This tip is great and works well. Just deleted everything in a double posting that I had made then hit the space bar twice hit OK and the one I didn't want disappeared. Conan |

Hi, I would assume every Boinc Project has some form of this license to let us use the Boinc software on their site, Einstein has a "are you 16 years old" check box, as does another project I can't remember right now, but I haven't seen a Project be concerned about installing Boinc on any of my multiple pc's over the years. Now not every aspect of every Project is public, especially the tweaks they do to the Boinc Server side of the software but both the Client and Server side of the Boinc software are public. |

This tip is great and works well. Just deleted everything in a double posting that I had made then hit the space bar twice hit OK and the one I didn't want disappeared. Most forums just have a delete button, but this one is rubbish, as are most things "programmed" by the Boinc "team". About the license milkyway@home is using see: https://milkyway.cs.rpi.edu/milkyway/forum_thread.php?id=576#8939"Free software license" could mean anything without context. It could mean the user doesn't pay. Or it could mean we can see the source code and modify it. The above was double spaced between sentences, I apologise for the forum software ruining my post. |

I believe we should all be celebrating now, after all this is what we are all here for, we have crunched all that was to be crunched, and we have delivered the results for the scientists. Now let's move onto new frontiers and hope RPI will give us more projects to research. Congratulations everyone! |

Indeed, it's nice to see a project come to fruition. I shall be upping my Nbody contribution in the hope of more scientific conclusions. The above was double spaced between sentences, I apologise for the forum software ruining my post. |

https://milkyway.cs.rpi.edu/milkyway/forum_thread.php?id=5010 "Based on your input we have decided to turn off Separation this Tuesday. N-body will still be running, and we appreciate anyone who wants to help crunch work for that application! I am not able to give you an exact time estimate because it's not clear exactly how long it will take to properly shut things down; however, I expect it to be sometime around noon EDT (1600 UTD)." This message is also important: We have all the results that we need for the science, so it doesn't make a difference to us whether you continue crunching Separation WUs between now and Tuesday. I am not sure if Prof. Newberg wants to just turn off the WU generator on Tuesday or if she wants to turn off the entire application... I think she wants to do the second one. I will double check next time we talk. |

This is illogical. If they have all they need, they should turn it off right now. Why convert electricity into points and badges? If there's no science from it, stop doing it. The above was double spaced between sentences, I apologise for the forum software ruining my post. |

Nothing can annoy me today, I just repaired a DUAL Tahiti card, so I'm back up to 9 Tahitis a Fury and a Baffin. Using the remaining Milkyway to give it a thorough test. Doing 1 task every 19 seconds. It's a pity seperation's stopping, I loved watching those fly through. Hopefully Nbody can be converted to GPU! Great news on getting all you needed from the separation app! I have some work loaded that won't be crunched by tomorrow, my question is are you just going to turn off the generator and keep the validator going or am i better to just abort what i have left? |

GPU tasks take under a minute. The above was double spaced between sentences, I apologise for the forum software ruining my post. |

My gpu does tasks in 6 minutes.Lada GPU? :-P Does anyone else get timeouts while connecting to this forumNo, my browser doesn't seem to be impatient enough, strange as it usually is. But it's taking several seconds to bother loading at all, like Einstein always is. I notice there's a validation backlog on the server, and it's handing out 90 tasks instead of 300-900 at a time. Something is very busy doing whatever the end of seperation work involves, or a RAID is degraded. Looks like the generator either crashed or has been switched off. No more to send now.
