For the last two days, I have received no new tasks for my old Win 7 Dell laptop - two cores only. For the last year, I've successfully run both separation and nbody task on this computer but no longer. I added a new app_config.xml specifying --nthreads as 2 and updated - no no avail. Anyone have any ideas why nbody tasks are not available - four other computers (all win 10) are running just fine. Tnx |

They should be available, even if the servers might be struggling right now with all the unvalidated separation WUs in the database caused by the very professional shutdown of separation. If the computer has just two cores, no need to specify this in app_config. Check your project preferences if nBody is still one of your selected projects after they removed separation, I just cleaned up my for future use and "Run only the selected applications" turned to "(all applications)". |

You need a 64-bit OS. Your win 7 shows as 32-bit. There is no 32-bit n-body. So that’s why you aren’t getting any. Your previous tasks were all separation |

You need a 64-bit OS. Your win 7 shows as 32-bit.Ups, you're right, didn't notice he's still on 32-bit, I assumed he wrote an app_info.xml file for an application, that already exists on that machine. |

He could update the pc to Win10 or even go Linux and probably crunch faster, less overhead, as the pc is: Intel® 64 ‡ Yes according to Ark Intel |

buying a Win10 license for old 2 core laptop is waste of money. Consider linux mint xfce. It has a windows like desktop, xfce is lighter weight than other linux desktop distros and with a 2 core system you need lightweight. And it's free. |

buying a Win10 license for old 2 core laptop is waste of moneyI completely agree on that, just use the Win7 key to install Win10. |

And there is the answer I was looking for :-) The little Dell is hereby retired until I find another Boinc project where it can be used. Sherlocking in progress. Tnx agn. |
