I am not sure if someone is in working on things, but the pending seems to have dropped and there is the very occasional WU getting through. But the quads finish them very quickly. Looks like Einstein is getting a real boost, and a small tickle for Malaria from here.

But, there is definitely something up, as the work ready to send is rising - Server status @ 11.15 UTC shows 9,608 WUs ready to send and "Results in Progress" are falling quite quickly between server snapshots.

A couple of crunchers are having the same problem downloading new work as I am (Lord Tedric, I assume ICE as he is on his cache, WimTea and Conan). Others are saying - no problem.

I need to come back to this one, after looking at individual accounts to see if this is a UK thing (common issues).

This seems to be wider than the UK or near continental Europe (WimTea). Comments by posters come from Oz and the US as well. I am assuming they are having difficulty getting new WUs to crunch?

Latest server status snapshot @ 11.26 UTC shows 10,207 WUs ready to send, and the In progress has dropped slightly further.

A server definitely needs to be given a strong poke to unstick things.

Don't worry John. It's a global issue. Now I'm getting new wu's ocasionally... I'm running from cache now.

Best regards.
Logan.

Agreed after all the lad came in on Thanksgiving day to try and keep the project going. He needs to sleep and eat sometime even if computers don't.

No pressure but every time I put my quad on a different project, about 10min's later MW fills my box's up! Murphy is ALWAYS watching! I'd rather "kick the client" a few times!

Its something built into the BOINC client code, I think.
Decide to spend the day doing an Astropulse, and come back with a coffee to see a stack of MW and the rude message you cant have more than 20 at once you greedy sod.

Now starting to pull work down, but it is coming in dribs abd drabs (1 to 3 Wus at a time every minute.)

I must say the caches have a long long way to go before they hit the 20 WU limit per core.

Like you, Caspr, my caches are slowly filling, a few WUs at a time, through a combination of bumping the servers and letting them fetch work on the 1 minute cycle.

One of my old rigs has now hit the 20-WUs per core limit. Excellent, and it feels like normal again.

That's your imagination at work. You can't have more than 5 you greedy sod. But it's better than having some other problem.

Well, he got you, Ice, didn't he! Rather than just taking you down to 8, he took you down to 5 and, after the screaming died down, he then mercifully granted relief by taking you back up to 8. And you were happy!

Classic Machiavelli.

You know, that would look pretty interesting... Let's do it.
