My computer ID is 1003452 with 13500H and 4060 Laptop. Since registration no tasks has been sent. Why? I can say I'm not new to BOINC and Milkyway. I have 8 computers in total (the others have be disabled) and they have been running since August 2022. |

Since registration no tasks has been sent. Why? What's written in the log when your computer requests new work? |

I'm sorry but where can I locate the log file? |

At the top of Boinc, select Tools, select Event Log. A window will open. The answer is in there, probably near the bottom. |

At the top of Boinc, select Tools, select Event Log. You can also click update on MilkyWay under the Projects tab and then press ctrl, shift and the e key all at the same time to bring up the same Event Log. The log should tell you that MilkyWay contacted the Server and either did or didn't ask for new tasks. Remember MilkyWay ONLY has cpu tasks now. For instance when I click update and then look at the Log mine says: 10/29/2023 11:56:26 AM | Milkyway@Home | update requested by user 10/29/2023 11:56:40 AM | Milkyway@Home | Sending scheduler request: Requested by user. 10/29/2023 11:56:40 AM | Milkyway@Home | Not requesting tasks: "no new tasks" requested via Manager 10/29/2023 11:56:41 AM | Milkyway@Home | Scheduler request completed 10/29/2023 11:56:41 AM | Milkyway@Home | Project requested delay of 91 seconds I have No New Tasks set for MilkyWay on this laptop as I am doing other Projects right now. |

The history is: The MilkyWay Project no longer HAS any gpu tasks, it is now a cpu project only now and you can see above that you are asking for gpu tasks NOT cpu tasks. 2023/10/30 15:46:56 | Milkyway@Home | Not using CPU: project preferences 2023/10/30 15:47:04 | Milkyway@Home | Requesting new tasks for NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Laptop GPU and Microsoft Basic Render Driver and Intel(R) UHD Graphics The other thing that could be holding you back is this line saying you are using the "Microsoft render driver", you need to be using the Nvidia driver that you download from nvidia..com, the Microsoft driver is okay for normal stuff a pc does but for crunching gpu tasks for Boinc Projects you need to driver from Nvidia is your case. The latest driver from them is 545.92. Then if you go to a different Boinc Project, Asteroids is one that has both cpu and gpu tasks. |

On this site you can enable CPU work for Milkyway: MilkyWay@home preferences. For your GPU you will unfortunately have to find an other project, Asteroids suggested by mikey is one of them, this site might also help you finding something you like: https://boinc.berkeley.edu/projects.php Just make sure they have nVidia GPUs as one of the supported platforms. EDIT: and yes, there seem to be some mess with the drivers on your computer, the "OpenCL GPU Microsoft Basic Render Driver (8052MB) driver: 1.02" shouldn't be there and I think the same applies to the "OpenCL GPU NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Laptop GPU (7971MB) driver: 1.02" as that's included in "NVIDIA NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Laptop GPU (8187MB) driver: 531.97 OpenCL: 3.0". |

Thkx. Then I wouldn't consider Milkyway anymore because there're other GPU projects to run for. |

Thkx. Then I wouldn't consider Milkyway anymore because there're other GPU projects to run for. It's sad to see you go but I'm sure the next Project will love having your contribution helping them |
