I rejoined after long absence and uploaded the new link. Now the work unit keeps getting stuck and the only solution is to reboot which is not always convenient, currently stuck for 3rd time after c.30% progress. WCG has the same issue after changing servers, but usually one reboot is enough Are you using an app_config.xml file to limit the number of cpu cores the app can use? If not the one Link has is very helpful, the problem seems to be that if MilkyWay is using all of your cpu cores to crunch with then when the pc wants to do something else, ie check you mail, open a webpage etc, it stops crunching and then doesn't resume crunching again. |

Have not had any issue with the stopping of the work unit and then not restarting. I will do the detach and re-attach maybe tomorrow or when I get round to it, same with SRBase and Einstein, who also want me to use a different url, works with the old one. Conan |

Those PHP warnings are to do with the website changes, as the application data was reloaded somewhere along the way without retaining the old data (which would've needed an application version update, I believe); as a result the PHP can't find app version information for the older items. This came up earlier in this thread and in the News section server migration thread too. Kevin indicated as much in his reply to the second post I linked... It's irritating, but once all the older results have been assimilated/purged it shouldn't happen any longer :_) Cheers - Al. |

On the personal tasks page, when you have time, can you clean up all the broken links? The top half of the page is filled with error messages. Also can you clear out all the canceled tasks from earlier and all non current 'pending' tasks? A little house keeping on the accounts would be appreciated. Right now without going to the all tasks tab, I can not figure out what is going on with my system and your program. |

Yeh a lot of stalling to be honest that's drove me crazy in the past because CPU usage is more sensitive for Milkyway Tasks, but even on my usual settings right now my tasks are constantly stalling, so ya know what? i've turned off that setting telling my tasks to suspend after it goes over a set limit, good riddance lol. I think it's best we untick that setting for Milkyway tasks, the same for Universe tasks too so it keeps going without ever suspending. Never do the tasks constantly use even 90% of your CPU unless you want it to, it just jumps over it and goes back down again constantly going up and down, but right now if any other computer usage makes it jump over your set limit even once, it stalls it's a pain bye bye lol. |

so ya know what? i've turned off that setting telling my tasks to suspend after it goes over a set limit, good riddance lolYes, "Suspend when non-BOINC CPU usage is above" should be disabled, most stupid thing they put into BOINC, in particular since we have CPUs with more than one core and nearly never use 100% of them. Unless you need to suspend BOINC or BOINC GPU applications when some specific non-BOINC application runs (game for example), it's best to tell the client to "run always", that setting keeps all issues coming from suspending BOINC applications away. Never do the tasks constantly use even 90% of your CPU unless you want it to, it just jumps over it and goes back down again constantly going up and down, but right now if any other computer usage makes it jump over your set limit even once, it stalls it's a pain bye bye lol.For Milkyway you need to set "Use at most 100 % of CPU time", any value below will likely cause the application to get stuck, this has been pointed out in many threads. You can limit however the amout of cores used by BOINC. |

Setting CPU Time to 100% works fine now that i know to disable the CPU Limit setting. Indeed it's dumb and i will disable it on all the projects. |

This is a BOINC setting and you need to disable it only on one project and it will work for all. |

are there known connectivity issues with the project now? I've noticed consistently in the BOINC logs on each project update error messages that internet access is ok but unable to reach project servers, although around a minute later the project update request completes anyway It's odd I wonder if it's some random thing or some more persistent issue |
