I've got a bunch of WUs that were issued from the "-new" URL I have now reattached to the "correct" URL Is there any way to get the completed WUs accepted now? or were those wasted cycles? |

If you had changed your clients to the milkyway-new URL, you need to remove this project and add the project back with the previous URL: http://milkyway.cs.rpi.edu/milkyway/ But if you have still work in your client, and don't want to abandon this work, it is a more convoluted process. You need to follow these steps: 1.) Set MilkyWay@home to "no new work" in your client. 2.) Work around the DNS mess which was made by the admins. For example, add the the line 128.113.126.54 milkyway-new.cs.rpi.edu to the file C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts (that is, /etc/hosts on Linux). Apparently you need to define an exception for this file in Windows Defender before you make this change, on some Windows versions. 3.) Either finish or abort the work. Then trigger a project update to report everything. 4.) Remove the project. Add it back with the older original URL. 5.) You can now remove the above line from the C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts file. |

There is something going on with the project, unable to upload or download any new or completed wu's They are getting rid of the "-new" name on the Server so you either do the workaround posted above/below depending on how you read this or abort them and remove and reattach again. I have pointed this out to the Admin in the News section but they haven't responded yet. |

any news if that's completed? I was able to re-join the project without the -new but now all WU's downloading fails.... |

any news if that's completed? A fix has been implemented for this. It might take some time to propagate but you should be able to download WU's again soon. |

Thanks for that, I did delete the project then I added it again. But something very strange happened. I was allocated 96 work units, but they never downloaded. They were stuck in some sort of downloading limbo mode, so after several hours of not completing the download I reluctantly aborted all 96. I think a lack of heads up, about what was happening caused both confusement and frustration. |

Thanks for that, Is this still happening for you? Or are you now able to crunch? The initial errors the came through about a week ago I am not sure why they did not appear when the migration happened. I didn't realize the recent DNS change would cause the errors it did which is way there was no heads up on the necessary DNS change to fix the errors mentioned above. This just come down to me being very new with dealing with servers and BOINC so I apologize for the confusion and frustration. |

Yes, yesterday I had to abort all 96 after downloading them on Tuesday. I am currently not crunching units, I am waiting for the project to regain some stability after the changes. |
