Break away from the rest.

Instead of giving credits, I say you should give away donuts and cookies. Maybe some milk too.

I suggested candy before. Any of that is good to me, I'd sure do more.

Girls are only a myth. They only exist on the intrawebs.

I don't think my wife would let me go for that deal...

Then again, why would I need more? Doesn't having one girl cause enough trouble?

Lol...

Enjoy your trip to the Holiday Bowl then. I'll be sitting back watching the Sooners in the BCS Championship game (assuming we don't embarrass ourselves on national television this year like we do every other year...).

I'll have to take issue with this one. Time*Money would infer that each piece of time equals a certain amount of money. If each woman, as we have all encountered, is slightly different, then each would require a different time AND money. So:

W=T+M W=M+M W=2M W=2rtE W^2=4E

Which means to get simple evil you need a quarter of a woman. The bright spot being that no matter how many women are gathered together you cannot have more than 4 times simple evil. I think this may explain a little about female to female interactions...

And now on to everybody's favorite subject :)

Since we've moved over to the new app, I'm wondering how everyones credit rate compares to seti@home (which we'll be trying to use as a benchmark).

update: comparison to other projects (like einstein@home) is also very welcome. we want to keep credit generation here similar to other boinc projects.

My long term observation:

this host did 1100 with seti optimized (AK-V8) - 2000 with MW stock

this host did ~500 with seti optimized (AK-V8) - 850 with MW stock

this host did ~700 with seti optimized (2.4) - 1050 with MW stock

so the screw needs to tightened a bit.

We've had a lot of performance improvements since when started with the new version of our application (v0.1), and I know this will upset some people, but even our un-optimized stock application is awarding more credit than most other BOINC projects (even their optimized versions). So I'm reducing the awarded credit by half. Feel free to complain in our forums and try to change my mind if this is too much of a change. This should be reflected in the next set of searches we start up.

No problems with that.
This should get at least the stock app somewhere in the range of seti optimized (AK V8).

According to this site: http://boinc.netsoft-online.com/e107_plugins/boinc/get_cpcs.php

The milkyway app is 1.6 x faster that the seti stock app. Cutting by 1/2 will put you in the sub 1. range.

I would seriously reconsider giving out less than the seti stock app. This is still an alpha project no?

according to this site: http://boincstats.com/stats/project_cpcs.php

Milkyway is still giving about twice as much credit as the average project.
