I have 8 computers; One quad, two duals and five single CPU systems. None of them appear to have gotten a single workunit in the last 2 days. I'm running the optimized app (Astronomy 1.22 V3).

I've been reading a number of threads about WU changes but didn't see anywhere that we needed to do anything specific to get new workunits.

Is there something that I need to do to get new work?

Won't bore you with pages and pages but have a lot of this...

System Milkyway@home 12/1/2008 6:13:05 PM Sending scheduler request: To fetch work
System Milkyway@home 12/1/2008 6:13:05 PM Requesting 112999 seconds of new work
System Milkyway@home 12/1/2008 6:13:11 PM Scheduler RPC succeeded [server version 603]
System Milkyway@home 12/1/2008 6:13:11 PM Message from server: No work sent
System Milkyway@home 12/1/2008 6:13:11 PM Deferring communication for 7 sec
System Milkyway@home 12/1/2008 6:13:11 PM Reason: requested by project
System Milkyway@home 12/1/2008 6:13:11 PM Deferring communication for 16 min 13 sec
System Milkyway@home 12/1/2008 6:13:11 PM Reason: no work from project

I look at the Server Status and there are WU available. There just aren't any coming my way.

Any advice? Thanks.

Try detaching from milkyway@home and then reattach. That may help out with the new apps. Astronomy 1.22 V3 does not work now.

Close BOINC and stop the service (if running as a service), then delete or rename the app_info.xml in your Milkyway folder, then start BOINC again.

Bob, just do a quick detach/reattach of MW and you'll get work!

Edit: You will have to do it on all you're box's if you don't use an acct. manager

So what's really going on here is Milksop's app is DOA and we can only get work with the newer stock app supplied by the project?

Which is why the new stock app is open source and awaiting all the clever bods optimise it for different platforms.

Thanks to everyone. I am back up and running again. I'll be anxious to see if someone comes up with a new optimized application. With the new credit calculations, I have some systems now that are getting a better credit per CPU second on Seti.
