No Milkyway@home N-Body Simulation Tasks

There are no Milkyway@home N-Body Simulation tasks available at this moment ...??? Is this intended or is there an issue to be resolved ? Currently there are only "Milkyway@home N-Body Simulation with Orbit Fitting tasks" available, which is basically a newer version of the N-Body application. Simply enable both, they use about same amount of memory and same amount of threads, so you shouldn't run into any issues, you might however need to update your app_config.xml if that's what you are using to limit the number of cores per task. |

I hope they bring back the regular N-Body Simulation tasks, I'm almost to a milestone and would hate to miss it. |

Is there a source code available for the orbit fitting version of the nbody tasks? I would like to try it out on some ARM devices like Raspberry Pi 5 or something similar :) |

There will be more tasks coming for N-body for Palomar 5. Not exactly sure what the timeline will be on that but probably sometime this summer. |

No real need for that any longer since we can configure the number of cores per task on the website, I have only this left until they get the run time estimates fixed, than I will delete it completely: <app_config> <app> <name>milkyway_nbody</name> <fraction_done_exact/> </app> <app> <name>milkyway_nbody_orbit_fitting</name> <fraction_done_exact/> </app> </app_config> However it only corrects the time left for running tasks, not for those in cache, but better than nothing. |
