Hi.

I think I'm noticing some inconsistency in the task accounting.

Last Friday, I saw:
tasks in progress: 60
validation inconclusive: 4
valid: 85

The computer was disconnected from the internet over the weekend but kept processing tasks.
This morning I connected the machine to the internet:
old tasks still in progress: 17
validation inconclusive: 21
valid: 91

60 in progress - 6 added to valid - 17 added to validation inconclusive = 37. But only 17 old tasks are still in progress. What happened to the remaining 37-17 = 20 tasks?

Did I miss something?

It's a little had to tell what is happening as you have your computers "hidden" so we can't look at task status .... if another user's system successfully completes some of your Validation Inconclusive tasks they will change to valid and you will get credit.

Valid tasks are removed after 2 (or so) days from the list to keep the database size at a manageable level.

Thank you, both.

@Link - you may have nailed it. I consistently see Valid counter stuck at 98, so old tasks are getting removed.

@Bill - sorry, I didn't realize they were hidden. On Project -> Preferences, I checked the "Should MilkyWay@home show your computers on its web site?" box but they're still showing as hidden. Any thoughts on how to correct?

Did you click on "update preferences" after that? It's not saved instantly like on some other pages.

Thanks. Yes, I clicked Update. Turns out it did update but when I looked up my name again it still showed hidden for whatever reason. Just now I looked up my name again and the computers are listed. Thanks again.
