Hi MWers. I am a WCG and Rosetta exile. Loaded MW on my six machines and have noticed something strange on two machines. Machine 1 Running (4 CPUs) Progress 80% Elapsed 1D 18:54:29 Remaining 10:31:17 ---- The elapsed time increases but the Remaining does not change for hrs Machine 2 Running (9 CPUs) Progress 55% Elapsed 13:45:32 Remaining 11:06:43 ---- Same thing: elapsed time up but remaining does not change for hrs. Are these hung tasks? Should I change computing preferences? Thanks in advance! |

Should I change computing preferences? If you are not allowing BOINC to use 100% of CPU time, than yes, change it to 100%. It's a known issue with Milkyway. Than simply restart BOINC and the stuck tasks should run fine and complete successfully. ![]() |

Link your fix worked like a treat. Thanks BTW would you please point me in the correct direction to get a signature like yours. Now that I have crunched for three projects I would also like one. TIA |

You seem to have split CPID, so you have two "global accounts", this one for Milkyway and Rosetta and this one for WCG. Did you use a different email adress when signing up to WCG? If not try to merge them with help of this thread. The signature is in the bottom of the "Overview" page, so currently you have these two: ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Wow, you went above and beyond in assisting me!!!. Many thanks.... I had a different email in 2016 when I started WCG. I will play with it |

You need to use the img tag, so (img)https://www.boincstats.com/signature/-5/user/178578022333/sig.png(/img) replacing the parentheses with square brackets |

Well, that didn't work yet, it created new CPID instead of merging with the one you use for Milkyway and Rosetta. Do you have now the same mail adress on all 3 projects? Do you have at least one computer that connected to all projects after the change of the email adress at WCG? ![]() |

I will look into it. To be honest ,I only have WCG set up now to capture rare African Rainfall Project and the now defunct Help stop TB.; With the hybrid signature, it shows the badges I have earned. Thanks a lot for your assistance. |

Boinc converges CPIDs to the oldest attached project on a host. A real pain in the butt at times. Just use the same email for all projects and hit update for all projects in the Manager and it should converge eventually. Don't remove the WCG project since it is your originally attached project. ![]() |
