Tried to follow steps, and now have Docker installed, but the steps in between are probably of my own making, or something. Very depressing to see my statistics falling off a cliff on this computer while climbing on the other that didn't get the Docker upgrade. Is there any way to get back to pre-installation and ignore projects that require Docker? I know, if you can't get it right, unplug the computer and play games on the phone... JimPea |

No advice so fixed it myself. That computer no longer ruins Milkyway or Boinc. JimPea |

No idea which steps you followed, but simply uninstall whatever you installed and than install just BOINC without any additional stuff, Milkyway doesn't need that. Please keep in mind, that this is a forum where BOINC users try to help other BOINC users, not 24/7 support hotline.

I got 2 questions: Is Docker needed for most projects? (most convoluted confusing Github BS ever) Is the Github download safe? (as in not malware, i picked up a trojan 'xeno-rat' there last year) |

The majority of projects do not require Docker. github is generally considered safe, but, as with any download site that can change at any time. Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |

Just add the following line to cc_config <dont_use_docker>1</dont_use_docker> |

Just add the following line to cc_configOr simply stick to the latest v7 of BOINC for your OS, so for example 7.24.1 if you use Windows.
