Even Aqua has its own favicon now. We're down with the likes of orbit now in our lack of favicon-ness. :( ~It only takes one bottle cap moving at 23,000 mph to ruin your whole day~ |

I think this is getting overlooked or ignored. Doesn't expecting the unexpected make the unexpected the expected? If it makes sense, DON'T do it. |

I think this is getting overlooked or ignored. Indeed, I guess so too. :-( Does anyone know if and how it is possible to customize your browser yourself this way? Member of BOINC@Heidelberg and ATA! My BOINCstats |

Maybe this part of the website is under the control of a different undergrad who is getting his grade-forgiveness papers in order. me@rescam.org |

Bump The ico file is sitting there if it's wanted; Oh, but then I expect you can't have a favicon in a subdomain, or can you? Googling tells me that you can; put the following link in your html pages between the "head" tags. <link rel="shortcut icon" href="http://www.yourdomain.com/subfolder/favicon.ico" type="image/x-icon"> |

How do we set a favicon? What's this for anyhow? :) Most web browsers look for a file called favicon.ico in the root of the site. In this case, it'd be at http://milkyway.cs.rpi.edu/favicon.ico, but that location can be different by adding an HTTP header described by Ice. As for what it's for, it's for that icon that Firefox puts in the address bar to the left of the URL. I believe most other browsers put it near the same place, and they also usually go into Bookmarks. EDIT: Small typo. ;-) |

I get it in netscape but not internet explorer. Doesn't expecting the unexpected make the unexpected the expected? If it makes sense, DON'T do it. |

I get it in netscape but not internet explorer. Shows up in safari and firefox too. Silly IE doesn't play well with others. |

Could be Ie6. I get other sites though. Doesn't expecting the unexpected make the unexpected the expected? If it makes sense, DON'T do it. |
