Hello, I seem to get the following errors when I finish crunching a WU. It does list the result as valid but I just wanted to see if it was something else. Here is what it lists: core_client_version>6.4.5</core_client_version> <![CDATA[ <stderr_txt> Unrecognized XML in parse_init_data_file: computation_deadline Skipping: 1231691142.136000 Skipping: /computation_deadline Unrecognized XML in GLOBAL_PREFS::parse_override: mod_time Skipping: /mod_time Unrecognized XML in GLOBAL_PREFS::parse_override: max_ncpus_pct Skipping: 100.000000 Skipping: /max_ncpus_pct Unrecognized XML in parse_init_data_file: computation_deadline Skipping: 1231691142.136000 Skipping: /computation_deadline Unrecognized XML in GLOBAL_PREFS::parse_override: mod_time Skipping: /mod_time Unrecognized XML in GLOBAL_PREFS::parse_override: max_ncpus_pct Skipping: 100.000000 Skipping: /max_ncpus_pct Unrecognized XML in parse_init_data_file: computation_deadline Skipping: 1231691142.136000 Skipping: /computation_deadline Unrecognized XML in GLOBAL_PREFS::parse_override: mod_time Skipping: /mod_time Unrecognized XML in GLOBAL_PREFS::parse_override: max_ncpus_pct Skipping: 100.000000 Skipping: /max_ncpus_pct Unrecognized XML in parse_init_data_file: computation_deadline Skipping: 1231691142.136000 Skipping: /computation_deadline Unrecognized XML in GLOBAL_PREFS::parse_override: mod_time Skipping: /mod_time Unrecognized XML in GLOBAL_PREFS::parse_override: max_ncpus_pct Skipping: 100.000000 Skipping: /max_ncpus_pct Unrecognized XML in parse_init_data_file: computation_deadline Skipping: 1231691142.136000 Skipping: /computation_deadline Unrecognized XML in GLOBAL_PREFS::parse_override: mod_time Skipping: /mod_time Unrecognized XML in GLOBAL_PREFS::parse_override: max_ncpus_pct Skipping: 100.000000 Skipping: /max_ncpus_pct Unrecognized XML in parse_init_data_file: computation_deadline Skipping: 1231691142.136000 Skipping: /computation_deadline Unrecognized XML in GLOBAL_PREFS::parse_override: mod_time Skipping: /mod_time Unrecognized XML in GLOBAL_PREFS::parse_override: max_ncpus_pct Skipping: 100.000000 Skipping: /max_ncpus_pct Unrecognized XML in parse_init_data_file: computation_deadline Skipping: 1231691142.136000 Skipping: /computation_deadline Unrecognized XML in GLOBAL_PREFS::parse_override: mod_time Skipping: /mod_time Unrecognized XML in GLOBAL_PREFS::parse_override: max_ncpus_pct Skipping: 100.000000 Skipping: /max_ncpus_pct Unrecognized XML in parse_init_data_file: computation_deadline Skipping: 1231691142.136000 Skipping: /computation_deadline Unrecognized XML in GLOBAL_PREFS::parse_override: mod_time Skipping: /mod_time Unrecognized XML in GLOBAL_PREFS::parse_override: max_ncpus_pct Skipping: 100.000000 Skipping: /max_ncpus_pct Unrecognized XML in parse_init_data_file: computation_deadline Skipping: 1231691142.136000 Skipping: /computation_deadline Unrecognized XML in GLOBAL_PREFS::parse_override: mod_time Skipping: /mod_time Unrecognized XML in GLOBAL_PREFS::parse_override: max_ncpus_pct Skipping: 100.000000 Skipping: /max_ncpus_pct Unrecognized XML in parse_init_data_file: computation_deadline Skipping: 1231691142.136000 Skipping: /computation_deadline Unrecognized XML in GLOBAL_PREFS::parse_override: mod_time Skipping: /mod_time Unrecognized XML in GLOBAL_PREFS::parse_override: max_ncpus_pct Skipping: 100.000000 Skipping: /max_ncpus_pct Unrecognized XML in parse_init_data_file: computation_deadline Skipping: 1231691142.136000 Skipping: /computation_deadline Unrecognized XML in GLOBAL_PREFS::parse_override: mod_time Skipping: /mod_time Unrecognized XML in GLOBAL_PREFS::parse_override: max_ncpus_pct Skipping: 100.000000 Skipping: /max_ncpus_pct </stderr_txt> ]]> Validate state Valid Claimed credit 13.6353981611185 Granted credit 39.842842 application version 0.07 |

I don't know the answer. Someone should know. But, did you just change to 6.4.5? Possibly a problem with that version. Doesn't expecting the unexpected make the unexpected the expected? If it makes sense, DON'T do it. |

Yes, I did just change to 6.4.5, but I was getting the same exact thing from the previous version (6.2.19 I think it was...) |

Maybe its versions 6.x.x. I haven't tried any of the 6's yet. I've stuck with 5.10.45, seems to have less problems with this and rosetta for me. Doesn't expecting the unexpected make the unexpected the expected? If it makes sense, DON'T do it. |

It's not 6.4.5 since I'm running it as well without encountering such errors. You seem to be having these messages pop up on all your tasks, so it's not just a one time thing. Hmm... Well for the moment I would just say don't worry about it too much since it isn't affecting the end result. |

Yes, that was my thinking as well, seeing as it was giving a "valid" result on every WU, but just figured I'd see what people thought. Thanks! |

Hello, Yes, that's fine. I'm not sure of the underlying cause, but it seems that BOINC passes more XML fields to the application than is needed. Those messages are just saying it doesn't recognize the name and is skipping over it. There's nothing to be alarmed about. |

Hello, These three parameters were introduced with BOINC6, if the client program hasnt been changed to accept them then these (harmless) errors occur. You'll get a row of them if you turn BOINC on and off while its running the project client. |

I dont recall ever having shut the app off for anything (other than the typical reboot here and there) but thats fine, i can live with the errors as long as I know they are meaningless and really aren't messing anything up. Thanks for all the replies!! Beau |

IIRC, if you find the unparsed xml warnings annoying, they can be disabled in the local prefs file. I know I do sometimes, like when trying to chase other problems down. ;-) Alinator |
