Last week, I have released Dotsch/UX 1.0. - Dotsch/UX is a Linux distribution for BOINC which easily installs and boot from a USB stick, hard disk and from diskless clients and also has some interfaces to setup the diskless server and the clients automatically.

For more informations have a look at http://www.dotsch.de/Dotsch_UX

Today I have released Dotsch/UX 1.1. Mayor changes are the availability of a 32 bit (i386) and 64 bit (x64) distribution, mixed i386 and x64 diskless client on one single diskless server, build in BOINC client 6.4.5 and bug fixes
for the USB, hard disk, diskless server and diskless client Installation tools.

The distribution is available at http://www.dotsch.de/Dotsch_UX

Is this like what Ps3Grid has as an option for the PS3?

It's a lot of more than the PS3Grid Live USB stick...
Dotsch/UX can boot as the PS3Grid USB pen drive linux from USB, but it's also possible to install Dotsch/UX on a hard disk and also setup a diskless server and the diskless clients with the included tools easily.

Looks interesting. Might give it a try sometime.

Does this run along with windows or is this a stand alone boot? Not sure by looking over your site.

Seeing your screenshot, does this need to boot up seperatly like a dual-boot windows/linux or can it be added to run in addition to windows? I have numerous USB ports and a few 1GB+ thumb drives.

It's a dual boot with in a seperate Windows partition or on a seperate hard disk or from a USB stick. The install routines did not modify anything to your running windows installation on the hard disk, except to install the boot loader grub for the dual boot.

I think that it make no sense from the view of the perfomance to let Linux ran within a virtual machine on Windows. The perfomance los due the overhead is to much.
