I started up some new searches, doing particle swarm optimization instead of the newton method we have been doing. let me know how the WUs are crunching here.

No ps_ showing yet. All work starts with an nm_.

I expect we will see the new work soon?

They shouldn't crunch any differently than the nm workunits. Same amount of work, same amount of credit.

I have crunched 4 PS with the optimized client. It seems, all is ok.

I have done a few PSs without the kitties peeing on them........
So all is well in the litterbox here.

But why not increase the credits, just to give everybody something to talk about?

Then you could add a checkoff in the preferences to allow PS work or NM work......just like Seti.....LOL......

Don't need a clumpy litter box....
Doesn't expecting the unexpected make the unexpected the expected?
If it makes sense, DON'T do it.

Not at all.......it tends to mess up the cooling fans in the crunchers when the kitties wander about......

That's just what they do - no difference to the nm's.

These ps_x WUs seem to be running and reporting OK, as far as I can see with the near instant purge.

I just saw a PS work unit go through ok running at 7:57 compared to 7:47 for NM wus, so hardly any difference in time there.

I'm running the SSE3 optimised app (0.16) which Ice so kindly hosted at zslip.

HTH,

Rob.

Looks like the iMac is running around 31 minutes or so on the ps work.

Seems fine here with speedimic's opt Linux app but they are purged so quickly so it's hard to see the result.
Make them 10 times longer and ease the stress on the server? ;)

I have better things to do with my time than spend 20 minutes moving posts from one thread to another. Try and keep it in the cafe please.

Whenever I get upset on the interwebs, I try and remember:

It always makes me feel better.
