Let me know if you're having any problems with v0.18. Please note it's only available for os x and linux until Dave compiles it for windows. *edit* It's now available for windows as well. *edit 2* The windows version is v0.19 because v0.18 was using the wrong application version number. |

I forced it to download the new app by suspending SETI for a second, will let you know when I get to an actual 0.18 unit. Still have 8 0.16 units to crunch through. |

Yep, runs them in 00:20 on an AMD X2 32-bit compared to 00:31 with Linux opt app 0.16 for AMD (sorry i trashed 24 units when trying 0.18c beta, downloading error) |

Yep, runs them in 00:20 on an AMD X2 32-bit compared to 00:31 with Linux opt app 0.16 for AMD no problem :) trashing a workunit with this project isn't too huge of a deal. What we're doing server-side is really resilient to that kind of thing. |

Hm, windows 0.19 don't want to download for some reason.. Seems the server can be finicky about updating the application for some reason. I deleted the previous versions (instead of deprecating them), so hopefully it should send them out now. |

Apps 0.19 seems to be stuck. Everything else downloaded except the application. and none of the new work units will start. I hit the retry, and still nothing. It just will not download. |

Just a comparison but on my x2 4800+ that was taking 45 minutes its looking like v.19 is going to drop it to around 15 minutes give or take. That's what I call an improvement. Will have to check the Athlon 3700+ and see how much that's dropped from over an hour with the standard app. Running the cache out now so it maybe in the morning before it gets any. 4800+ is running Win 7 32 bit 3700+ is running XP 32 bit |

Let me know if you're having any problems with v0.18. Please note it's only available for os x and linux until Dave compiles it for windows. Will new opt apps need to be again? me@rescam.org |

Let me know if you're having any problems with v0.18. Please note it's only available for os x and linux until Dave compiles it for windows. Optimized apps still only need to be bumped to v0.18. Since we've made v0.18 the official stock app, I'll wait until things seem to be working okay with it, then make the announcement that the optimized apps need to be upgraded to a version stamped with 0.18. The reason I have to do this is some of our users are still using pretty old optimized apps (like 0.11 or 0.13) which have checkpointing bugs. Since they still award credit when they don't checkpoint, many aren't upgrading. The outlier detection we have running seems to be doing a good job of keeping these from messing with our searches, however it would be nice if they'd be returning actual results :P I don't really know of any other way to get a user using an optimized app to upgrade it. On another note, I think a few of the optimized apps out there don't have the most recent changes in the code, and since going from v0.18c to v0.18d gave the stock app around a 30-35% performance improvement, it'd probably be good if they were recompiled with the most recent version of the code to get the same benefit :) |

lol. I suppose I could make it v0.16. I think all the optimized apps are doing correct checkpointing by then... |

... My linux v18d apps will be out around 1700CET (when I'm back from work). From a quick look it seems like the crunch-time is cut to half... mic. |

... Yeah, after doing the switch even some of our stock apps are hitting the credit limit. I'll probably be lowering credit but dropping the speed limit tomorrow. |

:) No, I think you should go with the increase in version numbers otherwise people are going to get confused with stock apps and op apps with different (lower) version numbers. I hope it's not too much for those who compile the opp appz to recompile. |

Can you also delete the old old aplication as well? MilkyWay@Home Old 1.22 BOINC Project specifications and hardware requirements |
