I had a chat with my potatoes while they were chitting. It was just an excuse to see if any of my seeds had started to come up yet - I've temporarilly turned my dinning room into a greenhouse.

No little shoots just yet. Apart from the potatoes of course, which are chitting away nicely.

I figured I'll be starting (trying to) some seeds soon. Though my christmas cactus starts are bloming (again!). Only planted one 3 months ago, it's rooted and bloomed that quick.

Lots of kudos for growing the catus - I hear they're quite hard to grow. I find peppers hard to grow. I'm trying quite a few varieties this year, including chili peppers.

Well Christmas cactus seems to grow easily, stick it in soil and keep moist. I've only had 1 other succulent grow for more than 2 years. I tried some from seeds and couldn't keep them going. I'll try more when I do the others.

Sunflowers & pumpkins seem the easiest. I had some peppers, but I don't think I transitioned them well, they wilted soon. I do well from plany starts usually. The last few years I have gotten a Kung Pao pepper (~8-10"tall) and at the end of the year have 100+ peppers on it. It basically is a bush. Two years ago one regrew from the previous year and it took off.

Very impressive banditwolf! Maybe next year I won't grow my billions of tomato plants and have a go at these cacti. Those flowering type are great.

Hi Hev and welcome Cosmicvandal.

Nice Cacti banditwolf, I'll see if I can get picture of mine tomorrow. I forgot to turn it around occasionally so its grown at a jaunty angle.

I've just picked the leaves up from bits that broke off from the displays in the stores. :P

I've seen pitures of 50+ year old ones, they are massive.

That's weird that you have no RAC.

You should have crunched some WUs by now.
