I'm not looking forward to catching the flu..I am hoping that working in a school means that I have been exposed to almost every virus going at some point or another and my immune system is as highly trained as an SAS soldier. Fingers crossed.

Be careful what what you laugh off as hysteria. Swine flu strain #2 might well have you taking it seriously, even if the current victims don't.

Wow - not seen that, been busy this weekend. No visit to Crystal Palace for me for a couple weeks, then.

I'm not looking forward to catching the flu..I am hoping that working in a school means that I have been exposed to almost every virus going at some point or another and my immune system is as highly trained as an SAS soldier. Fingers crossed.

I heard its boys age about 5-15 that spread viruses most - wipe runny nose on back of hand, then climb all over everything...

We have had several schools close here as well with three confirmed cases.
Also no work for me in the last 24 hours. Keep getting no work available.

Headmaster Dr Colin Diggory said: "We are told by the Health Protection Agency that the affected pupils are responding well to the Tamiflu treatment and that they are recovering well."

I think it's wise to have the precautions that are being taken. The elderly and others with weak immune systems are more at risk, and will be especially so if any new versions of it appear. So far it appears containable and treatable, let's hope it stays that way. We have 4000 students registered at our College, I'll find out later today what if anything we are doing.

Its a known fact that those who worry too much get more often ill
than those who belive they will stay well. The best way to stay
away of flu is as always; Wash your hands and keep smiling. And
sing a little song as well.. ;-))

What I mean to say is; Normal precautions is not to hide away, close the
doors and stay away from the world.. We always do as best we can to
stay away from those kind of infectious illnesses, but we can not
be 100 % sure. So we live our life as pr normal, and fight the illnesses
if we get them. Until then, we should enjoy the days, instead of taking
in all the negative tellings in all channels. And if others get sick we
cant Make them well again by our own worry. But helping them out whilst
they are ill can make a difference no matter what.

So no. I do not worry about any swine flu, or any other flu. If so, its only
as to get the illness weeks and months before i actually get it.. If i get it.
Why should I worry..... And why should you... ?

Excuse me ladies, I'm not worrying, or panicking, nor indeed fearing. I was simply commenting that it would seem a sensible way forward in view of the NHO warnings, to take certain precautions. The press scaremongering is another matter.....

I think all nations have a certain horror, thats the Brit one.
The American one I can think of would be eating spinach and the discovering a tiny bit left in the mouth was causing a Blemished Smile.

I love spinach too. I've put on a few pounds in the last year so my figure is now a little less like Olive Oyl's though. (Ahh..the curse of those Staff room cakes and cookies.)
