1. close boinc, let the processes clear out.
2. put in Boinc folder (ie.): C:\Program Files\BOINC\projects\milkyway.cs.rpi.edu_milkyway
3. Delete stock app before adding opti app.

*edit* make sure to unzip.

Are you using 6.x version of Boinc? It may have a different location then. Check through the folders in Boinc and look for Mw's or do a search for it.

Thanks. I have a few more shots of the B2, head on and underneath. It stayed for a few passes and went on. Awesome show, clear day.

Thank you so much!!! I searched for all files on my computer that included milkyway.cs.rpi.edu_milkyway and found it in some other place I never would have thought of. Also do you have your pics on another photo site such as flickr or phtotbucket?

Not really. I have 200+ pictures of planes from that day. I could probably add a few of my favorites.

Your data directory may be in a different location. In my XP system it can be found at:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users.WINDOWS\Application Data\BOINC

Searching for those key files is probably the best way of finding it on your specific system.

Hi! Just a few weeks have passed since I started crunching WUs for Milkyway. Three days ago I installed Windows 7 build 7068 and I'm wondering, where can I put the optimised app? Because in this beta there is no "All users" directory and there are no signs of milkyway in the BOINC directory. Thanks

You will need to make certain that you can see folders that are normally invisible or just type into the address bar..

Do a search for 'Boinc' to find the folder.

Thanks to arkayn and banditwolf; both solutions worked and now I'm crunching a lot faster:)
