Knowing that this was a "mis-communication". It would help to know when work will be done to the systems and when the servers will be turned off ahead of time. As well as whats going on. I'm sure some would like to have known to set their systems up for the outage and future ones. It might help keep the complaints down & the crunchers chewing on something else. ;p

*also* It gets a bit annoying to loose ones credits for wu's being crunched when the servers are shut off.
Doesn't expecting the unexpected make the unexpected the expected?
If it makes sense, DON'T do it.

I don't think it was planned!

I very much agree. having 10.2 terraflops go dry is no fun for me either. Advance notice please of oncoming outages..

Thank You.

Yes labstaff misunderstood when i said create an apache alias to milkyway_gpu. They thought I meant delete milkyway and make milkyway_gpu. Looks like things are back though. Sorry about that.

I did read that after the lights went out. I just shortened it to:

It looks like Milkyway_GPU is there... but not much to see. ;-)

Did you tell something as well to the labstaff of Einstein@Home? Their site is away as well:

Einstein@Home is down due to a fileserver crash. We are working to bring the project back online ASAP. UPDATE: Fri Mar 27 22:39:13 UTC 2009 The filesystem needs to be repaired so the project will likely be down for at least 12 more hours. Thank you for your patience.

Murphy seems to do overtime hours at the moment.
