4870 and 3870

NVIDIA and ATI don't work along well so I'm taking ATI3870 off and have it back in the book. I'm currently crunching MW@H on another machine with ATI4870. Wondering if there is any good to add that 3870 card into this system? I've heard that we cannot crossfire 4870 with 3870 but will it help 4870 crunchs MW@H?
