As long as the power delivery companies cant get the power to
come in the right level, but instead some times down on a minimum,
and way too often over the limit - it causes bulbs to break after only
few hours. Thats means.. its way cheaper to pay as little as possible
for each bulb - instead of paying lots of money for a "low energy" bulb that is
"said" to last for 1000 hours. It breaks looooong before that - and
im sure everyone who are part of this know it. What they chose to
"call" the energy of light doesnt do anything to what it costs. But to
sit and discuss it, and deside, and then get everyone to do the changes needed -
well.. im sure That costs money ;-) But of course, someone need someting
to do...... So hurray! lol

Good point Moon. I must get my multimeter out and test the voltage....had a few strange computer freezes and reboots recently as well.

I'm actually quite amazed at how few people are aware that the standard nominal supply voltage in domestic single-phase 50 Hz installations in the UK has been 230V AC (rms)since 1 January 1995. Previously it was 240V, and was changed due to European Voltage Harmonisation. Although in practice we actually still get 240V as the limits are + -10%. This allows us and some parts of europe on 220V to avoid having to change supply equipment.

You still have weird Electrical connectors... ;-)

I cant use anything I have over in UK no matter
voltage level - so I`ll stay where I am.. lol

"European Harmonisation? Well, I can understand its
difficult to follow up on it all.. Even the bananas
has to have a surtain shaped curve to fit the directives. hehe

Hehehe in the netherlands we claim to use 220 volts but lol believe me when you put a voltage meter on the plug you see it being between 220 and 240 volts like in many countries in europe nowadays
Slowly all countries are using the european standard
And i want to complain not to have had a donation from someone to buy myself a intel I765 Extreme, intel X58 mobo, 12 Gb ram, 1500 watts powersupply, 4 geforce GTX 295
Now i should have got that 2 weeks ago so where the hell are the donators :D
Its new, its relative fast... my new bicycle

Perhaps the EU wants the money to help Fiat/the German Federal Government buy Opel/Vauxhall?

Tip: Don't bring any type of hair dryer to Norway - they are awfully hard to match up with a suitable converter due to astronomical power consumption. Rather check if your accommodation in Norway has one in the room, or just buy a cheap one locally.

Norway Electrics

Touche :-))))

I'm drowning in marking. My arm has actually started to seize up from repetitive making of red ticks on a page. :(
