Hit with an onion by a pupil during my year 9 lesson. They were meant to me looking at onion cells. Not throwing them. I was not best pleased. It hurts having an onion thrown at you. |

Hit with an onion by a pupil during my year 9 lesson. Yes. You can see from above why I didnt do particularly well in school, or would make a good teacher. I cant stick to the syllabus. |

Hit with an onion by a pupil during my year 9 lesson. Actually it sounds like you'd make a great teacher. My A Level students worked out long ago that they can easily send me off into digressions on any physics topic possible and get away with not doing the work they were meant too. I once taught an entire topic through digression. It's only when I went to check what lesson I should be doing next I realised we'd already covered everything! |

So... What wrong can you come up with today? ;-) I'm far too relieved my working week is over to raise hell. Looking forward to recovering tomorrow. It will probably involve tea and cake in the park. |

Hit with an onion by a pupil during my year 9 lesson. In 10th or 11th grade my whole class once got detention for throwing everything around in class while waiting on the sub(who mind you never came back to the school). Everything from lots of wads of paper to kleenex boxes, was fun though. :p My A Level students worked out long ago that they can easily send me off into digressions on any physics topic possible and get away with not doing the work they were meant too. I've had a couple teachers that we could get to do that. Also had one that would come in hung over most days and not want to teach at all. Hit with an onion by a pupil during my year 9 lesson. Only once. I love that! London schools are like war zones. In my time teaching I've been sworn at, hit, had things stolen from me. Extreme rudeness is a daily occurrence. Boys seem to be the worse for throwing things..but I've seen plenty of fights that belong in a Tarantino movie in girls schools. In my last school lessons were disrupted when one girl chased another through the the science department trying to bash her head in with a fire extinguisher. We are careful to always count scissors and knives back in because the students will steal them and stab each other with them. A few weeks ago one student tried to put another's head through the window and the following week faked a seizure. I can't post a lot of the best (worst stories) of things I've come across in schools because my post would be modded! |

Hit with an onion by a pupil during my year 9 lesson. Aww the good ol' days of harrasing the teacher! I went to a very rough school back in the 60's, it sounds like a description of most days with my class! We even had one guy stab another in class for stealing a pencil! I had hoped things were better now for the teachers, but I guess its still "the same old Shenanigans" GOOD LUCK Es99, it sounds like your going to need it! ;-p |

Hit with an onion by a pupil during my year 9 lesson. That sounds like a typical day at my school. I've seen all of that and more aside from the extinguisher. They never let anyone have sharp object without extreme caution. Usually had the dull kiddy scissors, etc. I imgine our stories are similar. But from two different perspectives. Only once. I love that! We got yelled at plenty of times being next to one of the assistant principles. For some time no one would come to sub that class. Doesn't expecting the unexpected make the unexpected the expected? If it makes sense, DON'T do it. |
